Your job is to pick all of the games each week and pick both the winner (no spread involved) and the confidence with which you feel they will win. The higher the confidence level, the higher the point total. If you get the winning team correct, you get the corresponding confidence points with that team. For example, say Indianapolis is playing Detroit, any sane person would choose Indianapolis and rank that game as their 16 for the week. You must also pick a total for the Monday night game. Please pick all games each week and make sure there are no duplicated numbers. In weeks when there are byes, continue to start ranking the highest confidence team with a 16. The bye weeks are harder since there are fewer points in total and upsets are trickier since you no longer have a confidence factor of 1. In complete weeks, there are a total of 136 points possible. Closest to 136 wins.

Winners will be determined each week by the highest number of points received. Get the game right, get the points. Miss the game, no points. Sounds easy, but it is not. The top 3 finishers each week will receive a yet to be determined amount. Each year participation has increased. We had 110 people in it last year. Last year the weekly payouts were as follows:
1st place $120
2nd place $60
3rd place $30

The big money comes at the end of the season where upwards of 16 places will be paid out. Last year the winner received $570.00. To remain in the top, consistency is a must. One bad week can kill the whole season. Any ties at the end of the season will result in a split of the two or more spots. No end of season tie-breakers.

Weekly tie-breakers are as follows:
In the event of tie after Monday Night Football, the person closest to the MNF score will win the tie-breaker. In the event there are 2 or more players with the same total, the winnings will be split evenly. The calculation will be based on the following example, extra point goes to the person with the lower total. Let’s say Denver is playing Chicago and players A and B are tied coming into the game and both have taken Chicago with a confidence of 4. Player A chose 38 points as the tie breaker and player B has 46. Player A needs 42 or less points and player B needs more than 42. The player with the lower total gets the extra point.

In the event of tie during the season, the game will be thrown out and the winner of the week will be decided by percentage correct instead of highest total. It does not happen often, but when it does, it screws up everything(Ask Donovan McNabb about ties).

When all games are on Sunday and Monday only, all picks must be in by midnight Saturday Pacific Standard Time. No picks will be accepted after that time. No excuses, no deaths in the family, no emergency visits- no exceptions. Easy way to avoid any issues is to get the picks in early in the week. You always have the right to alter your picks up until midnight Saturday.

When the games are earlier in the week like week #1 and Thanksgiving on, please enter all the picks by kickoff of the earliest game. You still have the right to alter all the remaining picks up until midnight Saturday. Make sure when altering your pick before Saturday night you include the original pick from the earlier game. If you don’t the pick program will delete your earlier pick and wreak havoc on your score. Easy rule of thumb- put in all the games before the kickoff of the early game and alter the remaining games later if necessary.

In the event your picks do not arrive in time, you will be randomized. You will receive the points based on those random picks. However, you are out of the running for the weekly prize. The points will count toward the season totals. We have had some very high random scores in the past seasons.

NEW RULE: In the event of any discrepancy, there will be a three person panel to decide the outcome of the ruling.

If you do not receive a confirmation of your picks within MINUTES after submitting them, drop me a note to validate that I have received them. I will try to confirm with you as soon as possible.

Try to get your money in as early as possible before the first game on September 9th. I will try my best to get the money paid out on a weekly basis. When sending me an email saying you are in, please include your physical address so I can get you the money for winning asap. If you paypal in, you will be paypalled out.

My buy in is free for running the pool. It takes a lot of time to run this thing. In addition any expenses are also taken out before I can calculate the weekly and season long payouts.

New people are always welcome. Have them email me their desire to be included and I will get the rules out to them.

I usually update the standings as the day progresses and you can check out if you are in the top 10 with 2 games remaining in the still standing section.
